Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Detailed imaging. No radiation. Expert interpretation.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a powerful, non-invasive imaging tool that provides highly detailed pictures of the body’s internal structures using magnets and radio waves—no radiation involved. Intercity Radiology providers combine advanced MRI technology with compassionate care to help diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions with precision and comfort.
-
Non-invasive and painless
Most exams take 30–60 minutes
You may hear loud tapping sounds—ear protection is provided
You’ll lie still on a comfortable table that moves into the scanner
In some cases, contrast dye may be used to enhance the images
Our technologists are here to ensure you feel safe and supported throughout your scan.
We also offer accommodations for claustrophobic or anxious patients—ask us about options when you schedule.

MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio-frequency pulses to create cross-sectional images of organs, tissues, joints, and the nervous system.
It’s particularly effective for evaluating soft tissue and neurological structures that can’t be seen clearly with X-ray or CT.
-
Brain & Spine: Headaches, seizures, back pain, disc disease, and neurological concerns
Joints & Musculoskeletal Injuries: Ligament tears, cartilage damage, chronic pain
Abdomen & Pelvis: Liver, kidneys, uterus, prostate, and other soft tissues
Blood Vessels: MR angiography for detecting aneurysms or vascular blockages
Breast Imaging: For high-risk screening or additional evaluation
-
Breast MRI (BMRI) for breast cancer screening and diagnostic evaluation
Brain MRI, MRA, MRV for tumors, aneurysms, strokes, and other neurological conditions.
Musculoskeletal MRI (MSK) for evaluating joints, bones, muscles, ligaments, and tendons for injuries and abnormalities.
Abdominal and Pelvis MRI for assessing liver, kidneys, pancreas, uterus, ovaries, and other organs for tumors, cysts, and other abnormalities.
